Alberta Basic Security Training (ABST) program instructor Steve Genereaux

Steve Genereaux is a retired member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) with 19 years of service. Having served in Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta, he has developed a skillset that reflects the intricacies of each province.

Steve brings experience from a wide array of roles in the security industry, including General Duty Policing, General Investigation Section, Search Warrant Drafting Instructor, Detachment Command, Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT), Criminal Operations, and he finished off his career as a District Advisory Non-Commissioned Officer overseeing the operations of six RCMP detachments.

Steve also has an extensive background in investigating public complaints, criminal investigations involving police officers, overseeing countless serious incidents involving police officers in Alberta, and authoring many of the Alberta RCMP’s operational policies that adhere to various statutes and legislation.

Additionally, he has received formal training in Community Conflict Management, Resolving Conflict Effectively, Effective Presentations (Instructor).

Steve brings a wealth of policing and security industry experience to his role as an Instructor of the Alberta Basic Security Training program with Skills Tune Up. We are fortunate and excited to have his extensive knowledge and experience to help our students grow.
